Explore the wonders of New Zealand on this journey across the North Island. As you tour Auckland and Rotorua, you’ll cruise across the Hauraki Gulf to explore the diversity of Waiheke Island, delve into the illuminated glowworm tunnels of the Waitomo Caves, and see the bubbling mud pools and spouting geysers of the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve.

This 10-day New Zealand vacation takes you to the country’s largest city, Auckland, as well as the geothermal landscape of Rotorua.

Your New Zealand vacation begins in Auckland, where two natural harbours frame the city and transform it into one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. You can get your bearings and enjoy the best views of the city by climbing the Sky Tower or you can head to Auckland Domain to explore a park built atop an extinct volcano. Auckland is also bursting with markets, so be sure to do some shopping and take home some Maori arts and crafts while in the city. During your time in Auckland, you’ll take a harbour cruise to enjoy views of the city from the water and visit Devonport, the Viaduct Basin, and the Bean Rock Lighthouse. You’ll also take one day to explore Waieheke Island, first journeying across the Hauraki Gulf by boat and then exploring the landscape and culture of this diverse island in the company of an expert guide.

From Auckland, pass south to the Waitomo Caves, where you’ll venture underground into sprawling natural tunnels illuminated by glowworms. As you ride a boat across the Glowworm Grotto, you’ll enjoy breathtaking sights as thousands of glowworms transform the cave ceiling into an approximation of the night sky.
